Congressman Zach Wamp (R - Chattanooga and Oak Ridge) is the hands on favorite but Mayor Bill Haslam has a big following and lots of money. Congressman Wamp is a true COnservative in a conservative state in a year that will see conservatives make great gains. Mayor Haslam is a pragmatic mayor who can capture both independents and frustrated Democrats. Whoever wins the Republican primary will win the governorship. This year, the more Conservative candidate, Zach Wamp, will probably win.
