Dear Mr. K.
Martin Van Buren solidified the art of POLITICS as pleasing the people who have the most money to give to a candidate for election.
This idea originated in New York City and caused the complete demise of State Craft candidates who did the best things for the entire nation, not special interest groups, or themselves.
The rise of politics over the last 180 years has, as warned by our founding Fathers, led to America's pitiful plight today. Statistics show that as a group, politicians have a higher net worth and spend far more of other people's money than any other group in the world.
